Presenza degli antenati III print by Bruno Munari
Presenza degli antenati III print by Bruno Munari
In October 1970, Bruno Munari and Danese Milano had an exhibit of a series of prints named "La Presenza Degli Antenati" (the presence of our forefathers), where Munari explored his facination of family traits passed down through generations: the nose of the mother, the mouth of the sister, the smile of the uncle...
The original drawings were made with both hands to accentuate the imperfect symmetry every face presents.
Originally sold as a box-set with all 6 prints, they are now re-edited since 2024 individually in a larger format. Bruno Munari, defined himself as an “inventor of signs”, ironically highlights the characteristic features of the different faces shaped by time in a graphic synthesis that is expressive education.
