Designed by Moritz Waldemeyer in 2012, My New Flame is the modern interpretation of a candle. The mobile table lamp, which is rechargeable via USB, makes a cosy light like a candlelight dinner: My New Flame uses modern LEDs to create a nostalgic light effect that simulates naturally flickering candlelight. Based on the video footage of an actual burning candle, Two LED screens reproduce the slight flickering of a flame in a realistic and fascinating way. The LEDs form a rectangle on both sides of the slim PCB board, so that the flame image can be seen on both sides of the lamp. The light can be switched on and off via a switch in the base and can also be dimmed.
