Eames Lounge Chair by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller
Eames Lounge Chair by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller
Eames Lounge Chair by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller. Technically called the Model 670 (chair) and the Model 671 (ottoman), the Eames Lounge Chair has become the most important chair of all mid century design. This museum worthy second generation example is a piece that is an investment as well as a piece that one can enjoy everyday.
Rarely seen, custom ordered configuration: chocolate brown leather with rosewood shells, all in original and well preserved condition. One owner chair, bought new in 1960 in Montreal. If well taken care of, will only continue to gain value.
For some reason this particular chair does not retain a single Herman Miller label, they were removed by the retailer in 1960 and replaced with their store’s labels (NationalTypewriters Inc.) making the provenance even more uncommon. All wood screws used on the chair are Robertson screws, indicating the chair was shipped in parts and was partially assembled by the same retailer.
In good vintage condition. Made in the United States, 1960.
