Callimaco floor lamp by Ettore Sottsass

Designed by Ettore Sottsass in 1982, Callimaco is a floor lamp, a silhouette well-known by discerning design enthusiasts, Ettore Sottsass’ “horn” of light has the illusion of an oversized musical instrument. The body is made of aluminum, painted yellow with a polished chrome handle, a steel diffuser in a high sheen red and a steel base painted gray. The updated built-in touch dimmer modernizes the piece.

Colours, geometric shapes and details such as the handle make Callimaco one of the most iconic pieces of Radical Design by Sottsass which brings artistic and conceptual research into everyday objects, turning them into extraordinary achievements.

Originally created in 1982, it has been revitalized by the addition of LED technology.
