Sorella table lamp by Studio 6G in 1972 for iGuzzini and rereleased in 2022. Made of PMMA thermoformed plastic and steel.

Sorella is a compact table lamp with a protruding and only apparently unstable shape. The idea came to Adolfo Guzzini, who was fascinated by the shape of the air vents on the holiday boat enjoyed with his family. On his return with a few sketches, he worked with the technical office to transform his idea into a lighting artefact. Two symmetrical parts merge in the centre of the body to reproduce the complex and elegant flared shape of the hood.

Stability is assured by a weight inside the base which allows the lamp to hold an intense oblique position in relation to the surface where it is placed. Sorella has been used in set designs for many science fiction films such as: 2001 A Space Odyssey, Space 1999 and Star Trek.

Available in two colours.
